During truffle hunting, the dog locates the truffle; its handler extracts it and fills the hole. The Société Centrale Canine describes these roles in its canine activities booklet. Ask the handler to explain the dog’s behaviour and the actions shown during your visit.

Watch without disrupting the search
During a truffle-hunting discovery visit in a grove, follow the handler’s instructions about where to stand, when to approach and when to ask questions. Ask how they recognise the search signal and decide when to intervene. This helps explain the actions actually demonstrated that day.
What is confirmed before your visit
Truffle hunting in the groves with the dogs costs €99 including VAT per person. Visits are possible every day for up to 40 people in total, including adults and children, only with a quotation and a confirmed appointment. The visit is cancelled if it rains. You can request a truffle grove discovery date all year round; Tuber melanosporum harvesting and hunting remain winter activities, generally from December to March. The quotation states the time, route, seasonal programme and total price including VAT. A preferential offer for a group may be considered after you contact us. Your appointment is confirmed after agreement on that quotation. No quantity found or truffle to take home is promised.
