Pascale, Lala and a group in the truffle groves
On 16 December 2025, Pascale organised a private group visit to our truffle groves. The guests handled Lala, our truffle dog, took part in the search and took home the truffles they had gathered.
The day continued with a tasting of truffles and Le Trésor de Fripon white wine. This account describes that outing; the programme for a new visit is confirmed in the quotation.
A crop that needs patience, with no certainty
Truffles live in association with tree roots, as explained by INRAE. During the visit, ask which trees grow there and how the soil is managed. Someone who knows the plot can connect that biological relationship to the work actually carried out there.

The dog’s nose, then the hand
During truffle hunting, the dog locates the truffle; its handler extracts it and fills the hole. The Société Centrale Canine describes these roles in its canine activities booklet. Ask the handler to explain the dog’s behaviour and the actions shown during your visit.
Truffle grove discovery visits can be requested all year round, by quotation. The programme is confirmed according to the season and conditions on the day. Harvesting and hunting for Tuber melanosporum are winter activities, generally from December to March; no harvest or truffles to take home are guaranteed.
